Sigur Rós or in English Victory Rose is an Icelandic post-rock band, with melodic, classical and minimalist elements. The band is known for its ethereal sound and the falsetto voice of singer Jon Thor Birgisson. Singur Ros was formed by guitarist and vocalist Jon Thorn Birgisson, bassist Georg Holm, and drummer Agust. Formed in early 1994 where they were very young. All songs are sung entirely in a phonetic language improvised called “vonlenska”. Sigur Rós is influenced by My Bloody Valentine, Bjork and other bands.
My favorite album of Sigur Rós for me is “Takk" in English "Thanks”, this album was fourth album from Sigur Rós, was released by EMI records on September 12, 2005.
The songs on this album I involved in an atmosphere of tranquility, its sound and voice that sometimes a bit shrill. Sigur Ros makes a mixture of pictures with videos and tunes that we do we move to other places.
For example we can on “Glossip” or "Glowing Sole" that is my favorite song of the album because I like video, melody and the feeling that they want to achieve in us. The most exciting part is when the leader, the boy with the drum begins to play it and all children begin to run until they reach the precipice and learns to fly. It is a emotion very beautiful.
